The objective of the research presented in this article is to describe the design of a virtual environment for collaborative learning based on a (work) space metaphor coupled with a multi-agent system (MAS). This MAS monitor serves to extract the relevant data related to the interaction of the various actors with the various functionalities of the environment at different levels of abstractions. We will show that the multi-agents vision of this system allows the visualisation and the reporting for describing a collaborative distance learning sessions.
